Can you remember what you felt like when you were three or four years old? You may not recall the details of what you did, but your picture of your childhood will likely contain some memory of youthful enthusiasm, innocence, or playfulness. There was a time when nobody told us that playing was difficult, and we played music without feeling self-conscious about it. There were those moments when we marveled at the excitement, the love, and the sadness that live musicians could coax from their instruments. And there was a time when we first performed as members of a band, orchestra, or chorus, and were overwhelmed by the massiveness of the sound, and our wonder at being part of fifty or a hundred voices all building to the same musical goal.
We as parents must get involved to make these meaningful memories part of our children's lives. Join your local music support group, find out about your local arts council and attend your local school board meetings to make sure the fine arts do not get shorted when budgets are made for the year. Get involved, sit in on your child's music lesson and learn what you can do to help. It is our duty as parents to do all we can to make sure our children develop all of their God given talents. You will find in the contents of this web page research and facts of the benefits of music in education.. Music can be shared or can be very personal and moving. Enjoy it and preserve it to make sure it is there for our future generations. Please take your time and explore all the pages and feel free to send me your

"For a few moments music makes us larger than we really are, and
the world more orderly than it really is... As our brains are
thrown into overdrive, we feel our very existence expand and
realize that we can be more than we normally are, and that the
world is more than it seems. That is cause enough for ecstasy."
-- From Music, the Brain
and Ecstasy by Robert Jourdain
Music can be one of the most enjoyable parts of a person’s life. Enhancing the best moments, entertaining us with the endless options, and helping us get through the inevitable down spells we occasionally will go through in life. Music can do incredible things, and there are so many different types (with new genres coming out all the time) that everyone, from hip hop lovers to country music fanatics, can accommodate their own taste.
Maybe you just want to feel like more of a bad ass when rolling down the street on your new motorcycle by putting on your Harley Davidson sunglasses and putting on some rock. Yea the motorcycle is going to be exciting on it’s own, but the tunes can take the experience to a whole new level. Maybe you want to calm your mind, concentrate and keep yourself from being bored while playing Blackjack or Poker in a casino.
Maybe there are days you find your current projects undertaken as a business accounting analyst a touch dull. Pop in your favorite productive inducing music and you will find your days a bit more interesting and the boring project will get done sooner so you can move onto more enjoyable ones. Maybe you are stressed out because you are studying for the MBA entrance exam and are so stressed your acne treatment gel just can’t seem to get your skin in check.
Sometime music is not just enhancing a situation but is the main event. For example, you might go to hear a symphony or you might go to a hip hop class. In these cases, music is the main event. Music has been shown to help children develop more active brains and to reduce stress in individuals (so you can use less expensive anti aging eye cream ). There have even been studies that show that those who listen to music are more likely to exercise more regularly and for longer. Simply put music helps keep you healthier in mind, body, and spirit. Music can help you live a better life.
The roll music plays in an individuals life is different for every individual. It will probably even alter and change throughout life as individuals needs change and grow. Music is about human experience, and some individuals may enjoy it more than others. However, it is undeniable that there are definitely benefits of plugging into some tunes from time to time. So whether it is to help you enjoy the moment or just get away for a much needed mini break, pick your favorite tune and let it help you march to your own tune.
